All the attention is yours. From start to finish.
There is no taking turns at Isla. Your instructor stays right beside you the whole time, no sharing, no waiting, no queue. That speeds up your learning and keeps you safer at every step.
Shallow flat water, steady wind, an instructor all to yourself.
Over 350 students trained since 2023.
Every detail at Isla was built for one thing: you learning faster, with more safety and without the frustration.
There is no taking turns at Isla. Your instructor stays right beside you the whole time, no sharing, no waiting, no queue. That speeds up your learning and keeps you safer at every step.
At the start, your instructor is in the water with you. As you improve day by day, they switch to the radio, correcting your stance, adjusting your direction and guiding every move in real time. Most schools shout from the beach. Here it works differently.
We use Naish gear exclusively: kites, boards and harnesses. All brand new and ready for the water. You do not need to bring a thing. Just show up.
Dilson, head instructor and partner at Isla, has been kiting for over 15 years. The whole team is professionally certified and works in Portuguese, English and Spanish. It is not just technique. It is patience, reading the student, and knowing when to speak and when to let the sea do the talking.
The lagoon at Ilha do Guajirú, also known as the Kite Lagoon, feels tailor made for lessons. You can stand while you learn, the water is warm all year round, and there are no waves to break your focus. The spot does half the work for you.
Isla started in 2023, when Dilson, Carol and Hugo crossed paths.
Dilson has taught kitesurf for over 15 years. Fun, genuine, the kind of instructor you call years later just to tell him you landed a new trick. Carol is a sailor from the island and part of the Locanda Dei Venti family, which is why the experience here goes well beyond the lesson. Hugo arrived as a traveller obsessed with wind sports. He rides wingsurf and brought the perspective of someone who has chased good spots around the world.
Three different people. One shared belief: read each student, shape the lesson to who they are, and deliver learning that is genuinely personal.
"The only ones who never learn are the ones who quit."

There are famous spots and there are spots that just work. The sea arm at Ilha do Guajirú is both.
Water shallow enough to stand in while you are still learning. Perfect for anyone starting out in kitesurfing and for anyone who wants to progress safely. Steady wind from June to January, with the trade winds arriving at 15 to 25 knots on most days. No waves. Just kite, board and open horizon.
It is the kind of place that lets the instructor do their best work and helps students progress faster than they expected.

In the early stages, the instructor is in the water with you. Right by your side, following every move until your body drag is safe and your technique is solid. Once they feel confident in what you are doing, that is when you get more space and they keep guiding you over the radio in real time. Correcting your posture, adjusting your direction, talking you through every maneuver the second it happens.
This is not a security camera. It is real coaching, from start to finish, at the right pace for each stage of your learning.

Ilha do Guajirú is the best place to learn kite, because the water is shallow and there are no waves. Your instructor stays right next to you the whole time. Isla Kite gives you full support and only uses brand new Naish gear. In 5 days the progress was incredible. We started from scratch and by the last day we were already riding.
I kitesurf myself and I brought my 12-year-old son for lessons at Isla Kite Center. Best choice we could have made. Ilha do Guajirú has the best conditions for learning. The school has great teaching, support, gear, and above all a fantastic vibe. Since there is no 6-star option, I had to go with 5.
The most common questions before you arrive.
No. All the equipment is included in the lesson price: kite, board, safety harness and a two-way radio, all from Naish. You only need to bring the will to learn.
Yes. Most of our students arrive with zero experience. We start from scratch: safety theory, kite control on land, then progression in the water at your own pace. The only people who never learn are the ones who quit.
The best results come in around 10 hours, like Debora and her group did. Most students reach real independence between 10 and 15 hours, depending on their pace. The lagoon helps: shallow water, no waves, predictable wind. You spend your energy learning, not fighting the conditions.
Every sport carries risk. What matters is how that risk is managed. At Isla, every student gets full safety training before going in the water. The lagoon is shallow, the instructor stays close (in the water with you at first, then on the radio in real time), and we never let anyone ride before they are ready.
The strong season runs from June to January, with 15 to 25 knot wind on most days. Outside the season there is still usable wind most days, with the bonus of fewer people around. Get in touch and we will check the forecast for your dates.
Always one to one. One instructor, one student. For couples or friends who want to learn together, we can run two instructors in parallel, each giving full attention.
From 10 years old, with a guardian present. There is no upper limit. We have trained students over 60.
We recommend it, but being a strong swimmer is not a requirement. If you feel comfortable in the water, you are ready. The lagoon is so shallow that for most of the learning you can stand up if you need to.
At Ilha do Guajirú, Itarema, in Ceará, Brazil. Access is 100% on paved road. From Fortaleza: take the CE-085 to Itarema, then on to the island. Around 220 km, 3 to 4 hours by car. Jericoacoara Airport (JJD) is about 55 km away.

Book Now →Anyone who comes for a kite trip at Isla figures it out fast: the wind is just the start. What sticks with you is the impromptu dinner on the rooftop, the cold beer after a session, the conversation with people from all over who came for the same reason you did.
Someone buys fresh fish, someone else fires up the grill. Five minutes later there's a table of ten people who met out on the water that morning.
Pool, hammock, shade. The downtime gives you more stories than the WhatsApp group ever will.
Here the instructor eats at the same table, tells you about the wave he caught, and calls you by name the next day.
Ilha do Guajirú is small on purpose. No traffic, no rush, no lines. You run into the same people at the café, on the beach, at sunset. That builds something no school could ever manufacture.
"You come for the kite. But you come back for everything that happens off the water."
Ilha do Guajirú as your base of operations.
The coastline between Ilha do Guajirú and Barra Grande is one of the most consistent downwind runs in Brazil. Dozens of kilometers of nearly untouched coast, wind at your back and flat water.
If you already sail and you are chasing the next level, this is the place. We run downwind sessions with full support: logistics, a support boat and a local guide for the moments when the route needs extra attention.
Ilha do Guajirú is our base. This is where the progressive downwinds start, for riders who already sail and want to cover distance with local knowledge, support and smarter route choices.
Depending on the wind and your level, we set up runs of 10, 25, 40, 60 or 80 km, heading toward Icaraizinho de Amontada, Caraú, Arpoeiras, Barrinha de Baixo, Preá, Tatajuba and Barra Grande.
For riders who want a bigger operation, we also organize long crossings and special expeditions. That includes longer stretches of coast and routes like Barra Grande to Atins, through the Parnaíba Delta.
This is not an off the shelf tour. It is a trip built around the weather window, the logistics, the distance and the right group for the experience.
